Wellness Healing Tour

In the green landscape, rest, relax, heal, and love!

How can we live more healthily and happily? As a solution to this, more attention is being paid to “Wellness”: a concept that combines the pursuit of balanced physical & mental health with an enhanced quality of living. If you’re looking for tourist spots to improve your well-being, where your energy will be boosted and your body and mind will recover in the fresh outdoors, Gangwon-do has the answer. That’s because Gangwon-do provides an ideal environment that balances your physical, mental, and social health, thanks to its natural resources for wellness: sound energy is released from the trees, healing spots that relax a weary body and soul, and differentiated meditation programs to retrieve inner peace. All of these will guide you to find physical/mental balance and the true direction for embracing your life.

Yongpyong Resort at Mt. Balwangsan

Meet Wellness Trail at Mt. Balwangsan

Spruce Healing Forest Trail, the well-known hiking trail at Mt. Balwangsan, is where 1,800 trees release phytoncides that will heal your body and mind. When the Friendship Forest Trail and Wisdom Forest Trail open in the future, activity programs will be provided that include forest interpretation, meditation, and yoga.

Meditation Hall in Museum SAN

This dome for meditation was designed by Tadao Ando, an architect who was inspired by the ancient tombs in Gyeongju. Upon entering, visitors are faced with scenery that varies on an hourly basis, due to the light from arch-shaped slits which divide the room at its center. Owing to this unique interior design, visitors can feel a sense of peace that is found only when you encounter yourself, nature, and space.

Regular program at the Meditation Hall

Visitors will apply relaxing aromatherapy oils onto themselves before following the audio guide
to participate in meditation experiences with 5 themes. Relaxation meditation, voice-healing mediation, silent meditation with a singing bowl, and more are prepared for guests who want to spend some time focusing on their own wellbeing.
